Initial casting for the world premiere of ONE DAY – THE MUSICAL has been announced.
The stage musical adaptation will star Olivier Award-nominee Jamie Muscato (The Great Gatsby) as Dexter and Sharon Rose (Hamilton) as Emma.
Emma walks into Dexter’s life on the night of their graduation. One unsuspecting day that changes them both forever. But where will they be on this day next year? And the year after that? And every year that follows?
As Em and Dex’s lives intertwine through joy and heartbreak, missed opportunities and second chances, they navigate love, ambition, and the unpredictable twists of life.
The story which has touched millions as one of the most popular British novels this century is brought to the stage like never before in the life-affirming ONE DAY – THE MUSICAL, capturing the intensity of youthful romance, the moments that define us forever, and the enduring hope that love will find its way.
ONE DAY – THE MUSICAL will be directed by Max Webster, with choreography by Carrie-Anne Ingrouille, set & costume design by Rae Smith, lighting design by Bruno Poet, sound design by Simon Baker, music supervision & arrangements by Nigel Lilley, orchestrations by Simon Hale and casting by Stuart Burt.
ONE DAY – THE MUSICAL has a book by David Greig, music & lyrics Abner and Amanda Ramirez and additional lyrics by Freya Catrin Smith. Based on the novel by David Nicholls.
ONE DAY – THE MUSICAL will play the Royal Lyceum Theatre, Edinburgh, running from 27th February – 5th April 2025, with tickets on sale now.
