⭐ KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN – THE MUSICAL – UK REVIVAL ANNOUNCED ⭐
A new UK revival of Kander and Ebb’s Tony Award-winning musical KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN has been announced.
The new production will a Made at Curve, Bristol Old Vic and Mayflower Southampton co-production and be the first major UK revival since 1992.
Based on the novel by Manuel Puig and adapted for the stage by Terrence McNally, the 1993 Broadway production of KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN received seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical and Best Original Score. A new film adaptation of the musical, starring Jennifer Lopez, will be released later this year.
Intial casting has been revealed with Anna-Jane Casey starring as Aurora, the legendary actress who plays the Spider Woman. With a career spanning over four decades, Casey’s previous credits include the original revival cast of Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club, Girl From The North Country and Billy Elliot – The Musical.
KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN will be directed by Paul Foster, featuring choreography by Joanna Goodwin, set design by David Woodhead, costume design by Gabriella Slade, orchestrations & arrangements by Sarah Travis, lighting design by Howard Hudson, and sound design by Matt Peploe. Casting is by Stuart Burt CDG.
KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN has music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, with a book by Terrence McNally. Based on the 1976 novel by Manuel Puig.
KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN will play Curve’s Studio Theatre from 3rd – 25th April 2026, Bristol Old Vic from 29th April – 16 May 2026, and Mayflower Studios from 2nd – 6th June 2026.
