⭐ GSA – GUILDFORD SCHOOL OF ACTING TO STREAM ONLINE SHOWS – THE SECRET GARDEN & THE WILD PARTY – FOR FREE ⭐
Renowned performing arts school GSA – Guildford School of Acting have announced two more shows they will be streaming online for free.
Continuing the GSA On Stage/On Screen Spring Season 2021 with The Secret Garden from 11th – 12th May. An enchanting classic of children’s literature reimagined in brilliant musical style to tell this compelling tale of forgiveness and renewal. A delight for all the family.
The Secret Garden is a musical based on the novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett. The musical’s book and lyrics are by Marsha Norman, with music by Lucy Simon.
Followed by LaChiusa’s The Wild Party from 12th – 13th May. A jazz and gin-soaked party in 1920s Manhattan sets the scene for this musical fable about debauchery and decadence, populated by a vivid collection of the unruly and the undone.
The Wild Party is based on the poem by Joseph Moncure March, has music & lyrics by Michael John LaChiusa with a book by Michael John LaChiusa and George C. Wolfe.
Suitable for 14+. Contains adult themes: scenes of historic depictions of race and gender that are considered disturbing, plus drug taking and scenes of a sexual nature.
These recorded live productions feature the final year students of the BA (Hons) Musical Theatre programme in collaboration with students on the BA Theatre Production and MA Stage & Production Management programmes.
Both productions have been rehearsed and performed in Covid-safe conditions.
