⭐ CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY – THE MUSICAL – UK & IRELAND TOUR ANNOUNCED ⭐
The new revival of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory – The Musical will embark on a UK & Ireland tour in 2023, it has been announced.
The UK & Ireland tour will open at Milton Keynes Theatre, playing 9th February – 5th March 2023 ahead of playing His Majesty’s Theatre Aberdeen (15th – 26th March), Edinburgh Playhouse (29th March – 15th April), Norwich Theatre Royal (19th – 29th April), Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff (3rd – 20th May) and Canterbury Marlowe Theatre (24th May – 3rd June), with more venues to be announced.
The tour follows a Christmas season at Leeds Playhouse from 18th November 2022 – 28th January 2023.
This revival is a brand new production from Leeds Playhouse, coming after previous successful productions in the West End and on Broadway.
The world-famous Willy Wonka is opening the gates to his mysterious factor but only to a lucky few. Young Charlie Bucket and four other golden ticket winners will embark on a life-changing journey through Wonka’s world of pure imagination including chocolate waterfalls, nutty squirrels and the great glass elevator, all to be revealed by Wonka’s army of curious Oompa-Loompas.
Based on the famous novel by Roald Dahl, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory features an original score composed by Marc Shaiman, with lyrics by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman and a book by David Greig.
Memorable songs from the beloved 1971 film are also set to be featured.
This new production is set to be directed by Leeds Playhouse artistic director James Brining, with full cast and creative team to be announced.
