ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER TEASES STARLIGHT EXPRESS REVIVAL

⭐ ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER TEASES STARLIGHT EXPRESS REVIVAL ⭐

Andrew Lloyd Webber teased an update on the long-rumoured revival of his classic musical Starlight Express.

During a video clip promoting the latest ‘The Shows Must Go On!’ the subject of Starlight Express comes up, with Lloyd Webber commenting:

“… One day when we’re out of all this lockdown, I know there are plans to Starlight to join once again the German production which has been running for years now. And open in…Lon-maybe not London actually. I better not say anymore.”

So it seems that a UK revival is still in development, with plans for it debut outside of London. That would make sense with the lack of available theatres.

I’m assuming it would would be similar to the current Bochum production, which Lloyd Webber made numerous updates and changes to in 2018, which he now considers to be the definitive version.

Starlight Express is a musical with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Richard Stilgoe.

The musical tells the story of a young but obsolete steam engine, Rusty, who races in a championship against modern engines in the hope of impressing a first-class carriage, Pearl. Famously, the actors perform the entire show on roller skates.

Fingers crossed we don’t have to wait too much longer for Starlight Express to return to the UK.
