⭐ EMOJILAND – IN CONCERT ANNOUNCED FOR GARRICK THEATRE ⭐
A special one-off concert performance of Emojiland has been announced for the Garrick Theatre.
For one night only at the Garrick Theatre some of the leading talent in Musical Theatre will take on these icon figures inside our phones. Giving them life, personality and whole lot of song.
The cast includes Blake Patrick Anderson, Laura Baldwin, Louise Dearman, Olly Dobson, Hiba Elchikhe, Renee Lamb, Hannah Lowther, Tim Mahendran, Natalie Paris, Oliver Saville, Jonny Weldon and Dean John Wilson.
Emojiland is an electric ensemble piece inspired by The Unicode® Standard, about a diverse community of archetypes who take one another at face value: a smiling face dealing with depression; a princess who doesn’t want a prince; a skull dying for deletion; a nerd face too smart for their own good; a face with sunglasses who can’t see past their own reflection; and a police officer and construction worker who just want to work together. When a software update threatens to destroy life as they know it, Emojiland faces the most fundamental questions a society – and a heart – can face: Who are we? And who matters?
Emojiland originally opened Off-Broadway at the Duke on 42nd Street in January 2020, where it received a New York Times Critics’ Pick.
Emojiland has music by Keith Harrison Dworkin, with book and lyrics by Dworkin and Laura Schein.
The concert is produced by Paul Taylor Mills, with Phil Cornwell as musical director and casting by Will Burton CDG.
Emojiland will play the Garrick Theatre for one-night-only on 31st October 2022, with tickets on sale now.
