⭐ TRAINSPOTTING LIVE – UK TOUR ANNOUNCED – FEAT. EDINBURGH FRINGE RETURN & OFF-WEST END RUN ⭐
A new UK tour of the critically acclaimed immersive production of Trainspotting Live, has been announced.
The show, based on Irvine Welsh’s seminal book Trainspotting, will be setting out on a highly anticipated UK tour this year including a return to the Edinburgh Fringe, an off West End season at Riverside Studios, and extensive regional touring.
This punchy, 75 minute production recaptures the passion and the controversy of the famous novel, then globally successful film, and repackages it into an immersive production – the audience are literally part of the show, including the notorious “Worst Toilet in Scotland” scene.
Trainspotting is the story of Mark Renton and his friends, living through the Edinburgh heroin scene of the 80s. Harry Gibson’s original stage adaptation, written before it became the famous blockbuster film, was instantly successful and controversial, and won the Sunday Times Award for Best New Play. In Your Face Theatre’s Scottish cast have created a snappy and vibrant affirmation of the power and humour of the piece.
The 2022 cast stars Andrew Barrett as Renton, Lauren Downie as June & Ensemble, Greg Esplin as Tommy & Co-Director, Michael Lockerbie as Sick Boy & Ensemble and Olivier Sublet as Mother Superior & Begbie.
The creative team includes original director Adam Spreadbury-Maher, original producers King’s Head Theatre and In Your Face Theatre, produced by James Seabright, lighting design by Clancy Flynn and sound design by Tom Lishman.
