Casting for the Old Joint Stock Theatre revival of the Broadway and West End smash-hit musical BE MORE CHILL has been announced.
BE MORE CHILL features the largest ever cast at the Old Joint Stock Theatre, featuring a company of 10 brilliant performers.
BE MORE CHILL will star Tom Dickerson (The Book of Mormon) as Jeremy, Jack Carr as Michael, Shannon Bourne (Becoming Nancy) as Christine, Tommy Fouweather (I Am Harvey Milk) as The Squip, Maya Jade Frank (Mary Poppins) as Chloe, Ailsa Erskine as Brooke, John Óg as Rich, Jessica Lim (Dear Evan Hansen) as Jenna, Harry Chamberlain as Jake and Steven Rostance (The Play That Goes Wrong) as Mr Heere.
This production also marks a major milestone, as it will be the venue’s first production under the Equity House Agreement — a significant step in championing fair pay and professional standards in fringe theatre.
This summer, Broadway and West End smash BE MORE CHILL comes to the Old Joint Stock. With a loyal global fanbase and iconic cast recordings, this sci-fi-infused coming-of-age musical follows the story of Jeremy Heere, an ordinary high schooler who discovers “The Squip”—a tiny supercomputer that promises to solve all his problems. But as Jeremy achieves his wildest dreams, he begins to question the cost of being “cool.”
BE MORE CHILL is a high-energy musical that explores the price of popularity with humor, heart, and a soundtrack full of unforgettable earworms.
BE MORE CHILL has music & lyrics by Joe Iconis, with a book by Joe Tracz. Based on the acclaimed 2004 novel of the same name by Ned Vizzini.
BE MORE CHILL will play the Old Joint Stock Theatre, Birmingham, running from 6th – 31st August 2025, with tickets on sale now.
