The return of the UK tour of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s The King & I is planned, it has been announced.

The previous tour had been due to play Bristol, Woking, Southampton and Wimbledon, before the tour was cut short due to the global pandemic.

Co-founder of Trafalgar Entertainment, Howard Panter, revealed the news as part of the Olympia Theatre announcement: “… Next month, our remodelled Trafalgar Theatre will open in the West End, Anything Goes plays a summer season at the Barbican, and we’re launching UK tours of The King and I and The Rocky Horror Show…”

The greatest musical from the golden age of musicals – adored by the public and critics alike – with one of the finest scores ever written including; Whistle a Happy Tune, Getting to Know You, and Shall We Dance, and featuring a company of over 50 world-class performers and a full-scale orchestra.

A celebration of the lavish heritage of the very best in romantic musical theatre from an unparalleled multi-award-winning creative team, hailed as one of the best working in theatre today, directed by Tony Award winner Bartlett Sher (South Pacific & My Fair Lady – Broadway).
