⭐ THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME ANNOUNCED FOR NYMT 2021 SEASON ⭐
National Youth Music Theatre have announced they will be staging The Hunchback of Notre Dame as part of their 2021 season.
Billed as a large-scale, inclusive production of one of Disney’s most epic musicals, The Hunchback of Notre Dame is a dramatic retelling of the famous love story, based on the Victor Hugo novel and featuring songs from the Disney film. The musical features a score by Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast), lyrics by Stephen Schwartz (Wicked), book by Peter Parnell and this production will be directed by Alex Sutton.
In order to mitigate against the uncertainties of current circumstances, auditions will initially be by self-tape submission and residential rehearsals and 2021 season productions will be held in the summer only.
It’s stated that this production will feature over 20 musicians, a choir comprising of over 40 singers and featuring a company of 60+ performers.
The Hunchback of Notre Dame is planned to be staged at Manchester Cathedral, playing from 11th – 14th August 2021, though this is to be confirmed.
YES! ! ! I will definitely have to travel to Manchester to see this, I’ve always wanted to see Hunchback on stage. Definitely something to look forward to! ! !
