⭐ THE COLOR PURPLE MUSICAL FILM ADAPTATION RELEASE DATE ANNOUNCED ⭐
Warner Bros. have announced when the highly anticipated film adaptation of the stage musical The Color Purple will be released.
The Color Purple is stated for release in cinemas on 20th December 2023.
The film, which has yet to be cast, tells the story of Celie, a Black woman living in the South in the early 20th century who learns her self-worth through the help of two friends.
The Color Purple is being adapted from the Tony-winning musical and 1985 film. Blitz Bazawule (Black Is King) is directing the upcoming version, which will be produced by Oprah Winfrey and Steven Spielberg.
Marcus Gardley is writing the screenplay based on The Color Purple Broadway reimagining of Alice Walker’s classic novel.
The musical, featuring jazz, ragtime, gospel, blues and African rhythms, has a book by Marsha Norman with music by Brenda Russell, Allee Willis and Stephen Bray.
They had better cast Cynthia Erivo! ! !
Her performance needs to be immortalised on film! ! !
