⭐ STAGE DOOR FESTIVAL – THE UK’S FIRST MUSICAL THEATRE EXHIBITION ANNOUNCED ⭐
Stage Door Festival, a new musical theatre exhibition, is set to take place in Blackpool next year, it has been announced.
Encompassing several iconic venues
(including The Winter Gardens, Blackpool Tower Ballroom and Viva Show Bar) the festival will offer workshops, exhibition space, masterclasses, performances and Q&As – all dedicated to musical theatre.
Stage Door Festival will appeal to anyone with musical theatre in their blood and is set to fuse the professional world with amateur dramatics and enthusiasts. As well as providing exciting exhibition space in some of Blackpool’s most famous venues, performers from all over the world will share their knowledge and inspire visitors from across the UK.
Co-founder Michael Cosgrove, a musical theatre performer and former lecturer, says: “There are plenty of shows and events for dancers but nothing for musical theatre. As a former lecturer in musical theatre, I always wanted to take my students to a dedicated event, but there wasn’t one. As a performer too, you want to keep raising your game. Stage Door Festival will do exactly that through our inspirational line-up.”
Michael has partnered with experienced event organiser Mark Walsh (BPM at the NEC) who is no stranger to producing world-class shows and exhibitions.
Walsh commented: “Blackpool and entertainment go hand in hand…Stage Door Festival will take place in October during the world-famous Blackpool Illuminations and will showcase the resort as the entertainment capital of the UK. It’s about time musical theatre had its own event and with so many iconic venues to use, Blackpool is the perfect location for the festival’s launch.”
Currently, Michael and Mark are looking to work with brands to both sponsor and exhibit at the festival. They are also seeking theatre professionals to join panels or share their knowledge at workshops and Q&As.
Stage Door Festival is set to take place 22nd – 23rd October 2022, with tickets to go on sale in Spring 2022. More information about the line-up and exhibitors will be available in the New Year.
