A stage adaptation of the critically-acclaimed horror film SAINT MAUD has been announced for Newcastle’s Live Theatre.

The “mesmerising horror masterpiece” (Esquire) is brought to the stage by acclaimed Sunderland writer Jessica Andrews (Saltwater, Milk Teeth) with new music from one of our most original and adventurous artists Gazelle Twin.

A devout young nurse moves to a seaside town to care for a former dancer now terminally ill. Becoming increasingly obsessed with saving her patient’s soul, Maud falls into a spiral of self questioning that leads to a truly shocking act of faith. Theatre at its most atmospheric and intense.

Starring Brogan Gilbert as Maud, Dani Arlington as Amanda and Neshla Caplan as Carol.

Based on the film SAINT MAUD written & directed by Rose Glass, produced by Oliver Kassman and Andrea Cornwell, adapted for the stage by Jessica Andrews and Jack McNamara with music By Gazelle Twin.

Directed by Jack Mcnamara, designed by Alison Ashton, sound design by Matthew Tuckey, lighting design by Drummond Orr and movement by Roberta Jean.

SAINT MAUD will play Live Theatre, Newcastle, running from 10th October – 2nd November 2024, with tickets on sale now.
