The recently announced, highly-anticipated stage musical adaptation of the smash-hit musical film THE GREATEST SHOWMAN will have its West End premiere in 2026, it has been rumoured.

According to unconfirmed reports, sources have told the New York Post that the new production will be directed by Tony Award winner Casey Nicolaw and that the show will be reportedly heading to the Theatre Royal Drury Lane. It was also revealed that “before heading to the West End, the production will try out in Bristol in early 2026”.

THE GREATEST SHOWMAN is based on the story and life of P.T. Barnum, the famous showman and entertainer, his creation of the Barnum & Bailey Circus and the lives of its star attractions.

The 2017 film directed by Michael Gracey, written by Jenny Bicks and Bill Condon and starred Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron, Michelle Williams, Rebecca Ferguson and Zendaya.

Featuring original songs from Tony Award-winning songwriters Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (Dear Evan Hansen, Dogfight) such as “The Greatest Show”, “Rewrite The Stars”, “Never Enough” and the award-winning “This Is Me”.
