RUMOUR – STARLIGHT EXPRESS – LONDON REVIVAL SET FOR 2024

⭐ RUMOUR – STARLIGHT EXPRESS – LONDON REVIVAL SET FOR 2024 ⭐

The beloved Andrew Lloyd Webber musical STARLIGHT EXPRESS is reportedly set for a major London revival, it has been rumoured.

The long-awaited return of roller-skating musical is reportedly set for next year, in an all-new purpose built immersive production, similar to the long-running Bochum production.

A child’s train set magically comes to life and the various engines compete to become the “Fastest – engine in the World”! The underdog, Rusty the Steam train, has little chance until he is inspired by the legend of the “Starlight Express” and ultimately defeats his arch-rivals Greaseball and Electra before going on to win the hand of the lovely first class coach, Pearl.

The world’s only musical performed entirely on roller skates, the show premiered at the Apollo Victoria Theatre, London in 1984. The show went on to achieve international success with productions on Broadway, in Las Vegas, Japan, Australia, a North American tour and in a purpose-built Starlighthalle in Bochum, which remains playing since premiering there in 1988.

The Bochum production also received a Guinness World Record for “The Most Visitors To A Musical In A Single Theatre” in 2010.

STARLIGHT EXPRESS has music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, lyrics by Richard Stilgoe and original choreography by Arlene Phillips.

Fingers crossed this finally comes to fruition, I’ve heard rumblings of this for months! ! !
