RUMOUR – HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH – WEST END PRODUCTION PLANNED

⭐ RUMOUR – HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH – WEST END PRODUCTION PLANNED ⭐

Plans are rumoured for a new revival of the cult music Hedwig and the Angry Inch to come to London’s West End.

Producer David Binder, best known as the lead producer of the Tony Award-winning revival of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, revealed in a recent interview with the New York Times that he would soon announce that “Hedwig” was “finally coming to the West End in a big way”.

No further details were mentioned.

Hedwig and the Angry Inch tells the story of “internationally ignored song stylist” Hedwig Schmidt, a fourth-wall smashing East German rock ‘n’ roll goddess who also happens to be the victim of a botched sex-change operation, which has left her with just “an angry inch.” This outrageous and unexpectedly hilarious story is dazzlingly performed by Hedwig (née Hansel) in the form of a rock gig/stand-up comedy routine backed by the hard-rocking band “The Angry Inch.”

Hedwig and the Angry Inch has music and lyrics by Stephen Trask and a book by John Cameron Mitchell.

This would be amazing, though a bit gutted this would more than likely rule out a return of the recent critically-acclaimed Divina De Campo led production.
