Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Sunset Boulevard is reportedly set for a new West End revival, it has been rumoured.
The musical is rumoured to return the West End later this year.
Sunset Boulevard was last seen in the West End back in 2016, with the critically acclaimed ENO production, which played the London Coliseum, starring Glenn Close.
Sunset Boulevard weaves a magnificent tale of faded glory and unfulfilled ambition. Silent movie star Norma Desmond longs for a return to the big screen, having been discarded by tinsel town with the advent of “talkies.” Her glamour has faded in all but her mind. When she meets struggling Hollywood screenwriter Joe Gillis in dramatic circumstances, their subsequent passionate and volatile relationship leads to an unforeseen and tragic conclusion.
Sunset Boulevard has music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Christopher Hampton & Don Black. Based on the Billy Wilder film.
