RIDE – A NEW MUSICAL – WORLD PREMIERE ANNOUNCED FOR CHARING CROSS THEATRE

⭐ RIDE – A NEW MUSICAL – WORLD PREMIERE ANNOUNCED FOR CHARING CROSS THEATRE ⭐

This award-winning musical Ride will be coming to the Charing Cross Theatre, it has been announced.

Ride will have its first full production with a limited run at London’s Charing Cross Theatre from August 2022.

Ride charts one woman’s radical act and explores the lies we tell to escape ourselves.

It’s 1895 and Annie Londonderry has returned victorious to America, hailed as the first woman ever to cycle around the world. She’s pioneering, she’s plucky, and she’s pitching her story to the men who run the newspapers.

From the infamous wager that set her journey in motion, to her freewheeling adventures with captains, cowboys, and customs officials, Annie just knows her tales will spin readers into a frenzy.

But as she approaches rough terrain, and unexpected paths throw her off balance, can Annie regain her footing, or will she confront the past she left behind?

Ride will star Liv Andrusier (Little Women) as Annie Londonderry and Yuki Sutton (Tokyo Rose) as Martha, with Amy Parker (Hello Again) as alternate Annie/cover Martha.

Ride will be directed by Sarah Meadows, feature design by Amy Jane Cook, with movement director/choreographer Natasha Harrison, musical director Sam Young, orchestrator Macy Schmidt, lighting designer Jamie Platt, sound designer Andy Johnson and assistant director Olivia Munk.

Ride was nominated for the Best Musical Theatre Book Writing in the 2022 Writers Guild Awards. An earlier try-out was named VAULT Festival Show of the Week and won an Off West End OFFCOM Award. The title song was nominated for the 2020 Stiles and Drewe Best New Song Prize.

Ride has a book, music & lyrics by Freya Catrin Smith and Jack Williams.

Ride will play the Charing Cross Theatre, running from 25th August – 17th September 2022, with tickets on sale now.
