The world premiere of the stage musical adaptation of the award-winning film PRIDE has been announced.
P&P Productions presents PRIDE, with the National Theatre, a brand-new musical based on the award-winning film.
PRIDE tells the inspiring true story of how a group of lesbian and gay activists joined the miners’ strike campaign of 1984. The musical with be brought to life on the National Theatre’s Dorfman stage following performances at the Sherman Theatre in Cardiff.
The musical adaptation reunites the original filmmakers Matthew Warchus, who will direct, and Stephen Beresford, who has written the show’s book and lyrics.
Featuring original music by Christopher Nightingale, Josh Cohen and DJ Walde, this is a true story of how two oppressed, but startlingly different communities united in their hour of need.
PRIDE will have a book & lyrics by Stephen Beresford, with music by Chris Nightingale, DJ Walde and Josh Cohen. Based on the 2014 film of the same name, which starred Imelda Staunton, Andrew Scott, Bill Nighy, Paddy Constantine, Dominic West, George MacKay and more.
