⭐ PRIDE – A NEW MUSICAL – WORLD PREMIERE – CAST ANNOUNCEMENT ⭐
The full cast for the world premiere stage musical adaptation of PRIDE has been announced.
Based on the award-winning film, reuniting director Matthew Warchus and writer Stephen Beresford, PRIDE tells the inspiring true story is set during the 1984 miners’ strike, when a group of friends formed Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners (LGSM) before helping a small village in south Wales.
Starring Jhon Lumsden as Mark, Matthew Durkan as Mike, Lewis Cornay as Bromley, Courtney Stapleton as Steph, Samuel Barnett as Jonathan, Chris Jenkins as Gethin and Jordan Shaw as Reggie.
With Kirsty Malpass as Hefina, Sarah Pugh as Sian Caroline Sheen as Maureen, Mared Williams as Margaret, Gillian Elisa as Gwen, Robin Hayward as Martin, Darren Lawrence as Cliff and Matthew Woodyatt as Dai.
They are joined by an ensemble that includes Daniel Forrester, Madeleine Morgan, Catherine Morris and Graham Vick.
PRIDE has a book & lyrics by Stephen Beresford, music by Christopher Nightingale, Josh Cohen and DJ Walde, developed and directed by Matthew Warchus.
The artistic team also features set & costume design by Bunny Christie, choreography by Lizzi Gee, lighting design by Hugh Vanstone, sound design by Bobby Aitken, music supervision by Tom Kelly, music direction by Jo Cichonska, wigs design by Helen Keane for Campbell Young Associates, casting direction by David Grindrod CDG, dialect coach Nick Trumble, voice coach Charlie Hughes-D’Aeth, associate direction by Jamie Manton, associate set design by Verity Sadler, associate choreography by Ashley Andrews, associate lighting design by Luca Panetta, associate sound design by Jonas Roebuck and staff director Jennifer Lane Baker.
PRIDE will play Sherman Theatre, Cardiff, from 31st March – 18th April 2026, before heading to National Theatre, London, running from 11th June – 12th September 2026, with tickets on sale now.
