⭐ NATIONAL YOUTH MUSIC THEATRE – 2023 SEASON ANNOUNCED ⭐

The National Youth Music Theatre have announced the shows for their 2023 season.

The NYMT 2023 season will feature three fantastic new productions, including a classic and a world premiere.

Alex Sutton directs Kiss Me, Kate by Bella and Samuel Spewack with music and lyrics by Cole Porter. The battle of the sexes takes centre stage as former spouses feud onstage and off during a musical presentation of The Taming of the Shrew.

They will present the world premiere of The Boy Who Sailed The Ocean In An Armchair by Jordan Li-Smith, based on the children’s book by Lara Williamson and directed by Hannah Chissick.

The third production will be Merrily We Roll Along with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, and a book by George Furth. Based on the 1934 play of the same name by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart. Sondheim’s semi-autobiographical musical turns back the clock on friendship and the high price of success.

In addition, they will be staging the second showcase in the NYMT In Concert series and workshopping another new musical in development.
