Casting has been announced for the UK premiere of Broadway musical comedy FIRST DATE, coming to Birmingham’s The Old Joint Stock Theatre.
Starring Michali Dantes as Aaron, Rokaya as Casey, Lowri Hamer as Woman 1, Tom Kiteley as Man 1 and Joey Warne as Man 2.
Following the tremendous success of last year’s summer show, which garnered rave reviews and sold-out performances, The Old Joint Stock Theatre returns with another must-see production that promises to be even more saucy, delicious and exquisite.
Blind date novice Aaron finds himself paired with the seasoned serial-dater Casey. What starts as a casual drink at a bustling New York restaurant quickly escalates into a side splittingly hilarious high-stakes dinner, filled with unexpected twists and comedic moments.
Featuring a contemporary rock score, FIRST DATE gleefully pokes fun at the all too familiar dating mishaps we’ve all experienced and gives hope that there could be that one special person out there for all of us.
This marks the second in-house production at The Old Joint Stock Theatre in 2024.
FIRST DATE will be directed by The Old Joint Stock Theatre manager James Edge, with associate director Emily Lloyd and produced by Old Joint Stock Theatre Company. The artwork is by Tom Mann of Ghostlight Studios. Presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Limited.
FIRST DATE has a book by Austin Winsberg, with music & lyrics by Alan Zachary and Michael Weiner.
FIRST DATE will play The Old Joint Stock Theatre, Birmingham, running from 7th – 25th August 2024, with tickets on sale now.
