⭐ MARTHA KIRBY & GUY WOOLF TO STAR IN UK REVIVAL OF JASON ROBERT BROWN’S THE LAST FIVE YEARS ⭐
The Barn Theatre, Reading Rep Theatre and Theatre Royal Bath have announced casting for their revival of Jason Robert Brown’s THE LAST FIVE YEARS.
The new production will star Martha Kirby (Bat Out Of Hell, Grease) as Cathy and Guy Woolf (The Cher Show, As You Like It) as Jamie.
THE LAST FIVE YEARS explores the rollercoaster journey of two New Yorkers as they navigate their five-year marriage asking the question, “Can this couple that were once bonded by a shared love of creativity remain united as their lives move in different directions?”
Jamie’s side of the story starts at the beginning, filled with the fizz of new romance and continues chronologically, while Cathy’s retelling begins at the end, reflecting a much sadder reality and moving backwards. Indicative of the turbulent reality of love on the rocks, THE LAST FIVE YEARS is a beautiful and truly impactful musical that will be on your mind long after the final curtain.
THE LAST FIVE YEARS will be directed by Hal Chambers, featuring set & costume design by Ethan Cheek, lighting design by Jonathan Chan, choreography & movement direction by Georgina Lamb, music direction by Ellie Verkerk and casting direction by Harry Blumenau. Co-produced by Barn Theatre, Reading Rep Theatre and Theatre Royal Bath.
THE LAST FIVE YEARS is written & composed by Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown.
THE LAST FIVE YEARS will play Reading Rep Theatre, running from 19th September – 12th October 2025, then playing the Barn Theatre, Cirencester, running from 17th October – 15th November 2025, before heading to Theatre Royal Bath’s Ustinov Studio, running from from 25th November 2025 – 3rd January 2026, with tickets on sale now.
Wonderful casting, can’t wait to see what they come up with! ! !
