Lena Hall and Oliver Tompsett are to lead the world premiere of new musical In Dreams, it has been announced.
Broadway star and Tony Award-winning actor Lena Hall will play Kenna, alongside Oliver Tompsett as Ramsey.
Also starring Manuel Pacific as Oscar, Gabriela García as Nicole, Sian Reese-Williams as Jane, Noël Sullivan as Donovan, Alma Cuervo as Ana Sofia, Richard Trinder as George and Leon Craig as Tom. Further casting to be announced at a later date.
In Dreams revolves around the former lead singer of a country rock band who, at a critical moment in her life, throws a party in a family-run Mexican restaurant to reconnect with old friends, while keeping her deeper motivations a secret.
The production includes choreography by Fabian Aloise, set design by Arnulfo Maldonado, costume design by Fay Fullerton, lighting design by Howard Hudson, music supervision by Catherine Jayes, sound design by Tom Marshall, musical direction by Patrick Hurley, video design by George Reeve, with casting director Annelie Powell CDG and Stephen Kopel Casting Director (US).
Their associates include associate director Tania Azevedo, associate choreographer Paris Green, associate designer (US) Oscar Escobedo, associate designer (UK) Verity Sadler, costume supervisor Laura Hunt, sound associate Callum Wills and casting assistant Alice Walters.
In Dreams is a new musical that uses the iconic music of Roy Orbison to tell a contemporary story about love written by David West Read (Schitt’s Creek, & Juliet) and directed by Luke Sheppard (& Juliet, In The Heights).
In Dreams will play the Leeds Playhouse, running from 1st July – 5th August 2023, with tickets on sale now.
