The Tony Award-winning composer Jeanine Tesori has teased the possibility of her musical KIMBERLY AKIMBO coming to London.

Tesori recently revealed her desire see the Tony Award-winning musical come to London, to The Stage, commenting: “I love working in London and so I’ve made it really clear I really want this to come there, to play a small place”.

She further identified venues such as Hampstead Theatre and the Young Vic as places she would like the show to run at, elaborating: “The spaces there to me are so varied and that is what I love about London and I can’t wait for it to come”.

Kimberly is about to turn 16 and recently moved with her family to a new town in suburban New Jersey. Kim is forced to navigate family dysfunction, a rare genetic condition, her first crush…and possible felony charges. Ever the optimist, she is determined to find happiness against all odds and embark on a great adventure.

KIMBERLY AKIMBO is the winner of five Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, Best Original Score, Best Leading Actress in a Musical – Victoria Clark, and Best Featured Actress in a Musical – Bonnie Milligan.

KIMBERLY AKIMBO features a book and lyrics by Pulitzer Prize winner David Lindsay-Abaire, music by Tony Award winner Jeanine Tesori, choreography by Danny Mefford and direction by award-winning director Jessica Stone.
