The highly anticipated revival of Into the Woods is now set to debut at Theatre Royal Bath, it has been revealed.

The Theatre Royal Bath has reportedly offered to stage the production for a four-week run next summer.

This production was due to open at The Old Vic early next year but was pulled in response to backlash from staff at The Old Vic, due to Terry Gilliam’s involvement.

Daily Mail’s Baz Bamigboye reports that: “Gilliam, co-director and choreographer Leah Hausman and executives from Scenario Two plan to visit the Roman spa city next week to measure up the stage as a prelude to official negotiations.”

It is hoped that after an out-of-town run, the production will transfer to the West End and has reportedly received offers of interest from the Theatre Royal Haymarket and from a Broadway theatre owner.

A dark and humorous twist on the Brothers Grimm fairy tales. The Tony and Olivier Award-winning musical interweaves everyone’s favourite storybook characters into a timeless, yet relevant, piece. Featuring the much loved songs Children Will Listen, Stay With Me and No-one Is Alone.

This new production will be co-directed by Monty Python alum Terry Gilliam with Leah Hausman.

Into the Woods is a musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by James Lapine.

Into the Woods is produced by Scenario Two Productions.
