HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH – WEST END PRODUCTION PLANNED

⭐ HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH – WEST END PRODUCTION PLANNED ⭐

A new West End revival of the Tony Award-winning musical HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH is being planned, it has been revealed.

Writer John Cameron Mitchell revealed in a recent interview with online theatre critic Mickey-Jo Theatre, giving an update on current plans, commenting: “… A new production will come to London, we’re working on that now…”

No more details given on timeline, casting or creatives at this time.

This comes after previous rumours of a West End revival, back in 2023, in which it was heavily rumoured for the 2014 Broadway revival to make its way to London, reportedly headed by Neil Patrick Harris but unfortunately plans seemingly fell through.

HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH tells the story of “internationally ignored song stylist” Hedwig Schmidt, a fourth-wall smashing East German rock ‘n’ roll goddess who also happens to be the victim of a botched sex-change operation, which has left her with just “an angry inch.” This outrageous and unexpectedly hilarious story is dazzlingly performed by Hedwig (née Hansel) in the form of a rock gig/stand-up comedy routine backed by the hard-rocking band “The Angry Inch.”

HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH has music & lyrics by Stephen Trask and a book by John Cameron Mitchell.

I hope this finally comes to fruition but I’m glad to see a new West End revival is still in the works! ! !
