The smash-hit punk musical Good Vibrations will return, coming to the Grand Opera House Belfast, it has been announced.

Returning by hugely popular demand, the Lyric Theatre’s sell-out production Good Vibrations will play the Grand Opera House Belfast this May, for a limited 2-week run.

This staged musical version of the award-winning movie charts the life of Belfast punk legend Terri Hooley, and the bands he helped propel onto the world stage, including The Undertones, Rudi and The Outcasts.

Dive headfirst into 1970s Belfast. With conflict shutting down the city, local legend Terri Hooley discovers a compelling voice of resistance in the city’s underground punk scene.

Written by the same team behind the BAFTA-nominated movie, Good Vibrations is a joyous, full-throated celebration of the rise of punk music in 1970s Belfast.

The cast includes Glen Wallace (Hollyoaks, The Secret) as Terri Hooley, with Jayne Wisener (Tim Burton’s Sweeney Todd) as Ruth Carr, Marty Maguire, Christina Nelson, Darren Franklin, Cat Barter, Gavin Peden, Chris Mohan, Odhrán McNulty, Jolene O’Hara and Dylan Reid.

Good Vibrations is written by Colin Carberry & Glenn Patterson, directed by Des Kennedy, musical direction by Katie Richardson, choreography by Jennifer Rooney, set design by Grace Smart, costume design by Gillian Lennox, sound design by Ian Vennard and lighting design Jack Knowles.

Good Vibrations will play the Grand Opera House Belfast, running from 9th – 20th May 2023, with tickets on sale now.
