Casting has been announced for new musical THIS IS A LOVE STORY.
Birmingham Hippodrome is inviting audiences to experience an early look at a new musical theatre production in the making, with workshop performances of THIS IS A LOVE STORY.
The new musical will star Genesis Lynea (Sylvia) as Earth and Billy Cullum (Leave to Remain) as Humanity.
Telling the story of the romantic relationship between characters Earth and Humanity, THIS IS A LOVE STORY features a high-energy pop soundtrack and a razor-sharp script, bringing fresh attention to the climate crisis.
THIS IS A LOVE STORY is a part of the Hippodrome’s commitment to developing and sharing new work with audiences and will be the first public workshop produced by the organisation’s recently established New Musical Theatre department.
THIS IS A LOVE STORY is directed by Jessica Edwards, featuring musial supervision & co-orchestration by Jordan Paul Clarke, sound design by Paul Gatehouse, associate sound by Charlie Smith, costume & design consultancy by Georgia Wilmot, lighting by Joe Price, casting by Ellie Collyer-Bristow, intimacy coordination by Joana Nastari, production by Christopher Ball and stage management by Maddy Wade.
THIS IS A LOVE STORY has music & lyrics by Jack Godfrey, with a book & additional lyrics by Ellie Coote.
THIS IS A LOVE STORY will play Birmingham Hippodrome, with performances on 1st & 2nd February 2024, with tickets on sale now.
