⭐ FAME THE MUSICAL – UK REVIVAL – CAST ANNOUNCEMENT ⭐
The cast for the brand new revival of FAME THE MUSICAL has been announced.
Theatre Royal Plymouth, in association with Jamie Wilson Productions, are reimagining a bold new revival of the musical for the 21st century that will include songs from the iconic 1980’s movie.
Starring Joe Boyle as Nick Piazza, Megan Ellis as Serena Katz, Harrison Wilde as Joe “José” Vegas, Talia Palamathanan as Carmen Diaz and Amonik Melaco as Tyrone Jackson.
With Shoko Ito as Iris Kelly, Olivia Foster-Browne as Mabel Washington, James Hastings as Schlomo Metzenbaum, Georgia Leila Stoller as Grace “Lampchops” King and Toby De Salis as Goodman “Goody” King.
Also starring Edwin Ray as Mr Bell, Waylon Jacobs as Mr Myers, Alasdair Buchan as Mr Sheinkopf and Rachel Jayne Picar as Ensemble Teacher.
Featuring Alicia Maynard, Jago Mottart, Anu Ogunmefun, Samantha Shuma, Patrick Wilden as Ensemble, with Elise Marnie and Kieron O’Donnell as Swings.
1980, Manhattan, New York. Amid the relentless noise and chaos of the city lies a sanctuary for young artists: The High School of Performing Arts. FAME follows a group of students from enrolment to graduation, as they come-of-age through their shared passion for music, drama and dance. This is a raw and unapologetic journey into the heart of showbiz – where talent and ambition collide with sacrifice and the harsh reality of chasing your dreams.
This new revival will by directed & choreographed by Tom Jackson Greaves and feature set & co-costume design by Soutra Gilmour, co-costume design by Enver Chakartash, co-choreography by Tinovimbanashe Sibanda, musical supervision, arrangements & orchestrations by Matthew Malone, lighting design by Richard Howell, sound design by Matt Peploe, casting direction by Stuart Burt CDG CSA and creative associate Omari Douglas.
FAME THE MUSICAL was originally conceived & developed by David De Silva, with a book by Jose Fernandez, lyrics by Jacques Levy and music by Steve Margoshes, featuring the title song “Fame” written by Dean Pitchford and Michael Gore.
FAME THE MUSICAL will play Theatre Royal Plymouth, running from 28th July – 15th August 2026, with tickets on sale now.
