Initial casting for the West End transfer of Sheffield Theatres’ smash-hit production, STANDING AT THE SKY’S EDGE.
STANDING AT THE SKY’S EDGE charts the hopes and dreams of three generations over the course of six tumultuous decades, navigating universal themes of love, loss and survival. It will make its West End premiere at the Gillian Lynne Theatre in London from 8th February 2024.
Joining the cast are Elizabeth Ayodele as Joy, Joel Harper-Jackson as Harry, Sharlene Hector as Grace, Mel Lowe as Connie, Laura Pitt-Pulford as Poppy and Lauryn Redding as Nikki.
Returning to reprise their roles are Samuel Jordan as Jimmy, Baker Mukasa as George, Alastair Natkiel as Marcus and Rachael Wooding as Rose. Further casting will be announced.
STANDING AT THE SKY’S EDGE features a hilarious and gut-wrenching book by Chris Bush, written as a love letter to Sheffield and the city’s iconic Park Hill Estate. The 2023 Olivier Award-winning ‘Best New Musical’ is directed by Sheffield Theatres’ Artistic Director, Robert Hastie and features songs by the legendary Sheffield singer-songwriter, Richard Hawley.
Featuring set & costume design by Ben Stones, choreography by Lynne Page, orchestrations & arrangements, originating music supervision by Tom Deering, lighting design by Mark Henderson, sound design by Bobby Aitken, wigs, hair & make-up design by Cynthia De La Rosa and casting director Stuart Burt CDG.
