The new British musical Elixir has been announced for The Other Palace.
Elixir is a brand new British rock-pop musical from two exciting new writers, Stefan Abingdon and Liam George. It is coming to The Other Palace Studio in a workshop-performance this October.
When two young women sign up to work for Elixir, the hottest multi-level marketing company around, both hope it will change their life. While Olivia envisages a brighter future for her and her sister Fran, CeeCee is confronting her dark past. And yeah, she’s a bit of a bitch – what of it? As both women fight to hit their targets, one of them is about to learn the real cost of chasing her dreams.
A successful pyramid scheme is the playground in which everything, from the dangers of social media to the competitiveness of the multi-level marketing industry and the threat it poses to mental wellbeing, is explored.
Elixir features a darkly comic script full of sharp wit that doesn’t shy away from the sinister reality of these worlds – but one infused with heart and hope.
With a unique sound inspired by contemporary pop and rock music, as well as the musical style of Spring Awakening, Dear Evan Hansen and Heathers, Elixir has a distinct and fresh feel to it. You won’t want to miss this exciting new musical at the start of its journey.
