⭐ DRIVING MISS DAISY – 35TH ANNIVERSARY PRODUCTION ANNOUNCED FOR THE BARN THEATRE ⭐

The Barn Theatre will mark the 35th anniversary of Alfred Uhry’s Pulitzer Prize-winning Driving Miss Daisy with a new staging for its 2022 season, it has been announced.

Driving Miss Daisy, is set in Atlanta just prior to the civil rights movement, and spans twenty-five years, from 1948 to 1973.

The magnificent eulogy to friendship follows the relationship of an elderly Southern Jewish widow Daisy Werthan and her African American chauffeur Hoke Coleburn and how despite their early differences and prejudices become lifelong friends.

Uhry also won an Academy Award for his screenplay adaptation of Driving Miss Daisy, produced in 1989. The popular film version starred Jessica Tandy, for which she won an Oscar, and Morgan Freeman.

Driving Miss Daisy will play the Barn Theatre in Cirencester, running from 19th August – 17th September 2022.
