⭐ DANIELLE STEERS, ALEX YOUNG & ROSHANI ABBEY TO STAR IN CONCERT PRODUCTION OF IN CLAY – A NEW MUSICAL ⭐
The cast has been announced for IN CLAY – IN CONCERT.
The trio of Danielle Steers (The Cher Show), Alex Young (Standing at the Sky’s Edge) and Roshani Abbey (Hamilton) will share the role of Marie-Berthe Cazin in a unique concert performance for one night only.
IN CLAY, a “perfectly formed and expertly polished” (The Reviews Hub) new musical, will take to the main stage of The Other Palace after a five-star, sellout run at VAULT Festival 2023, during which it was nominated for Show of the Week, and an Offies OffFest award.
IN CLAY has also been shortlisted for the MTI Stiles & Drewe Mentorship Award.
Combining jazz manouche with contemporary musical theatre, IN CLAY is a one-woman musical “bursting with numbers that feel destined to become classics” (All That Dazzles).
Based on a true story, this “poignant reflection on ambition, regrets & self-fulfillment” (Fringebiscuit) is told from a quaint Parisian kitchen in the late 1930s. Marie-Berthe Cazin, a ceramist in her early 40s, eagerly awaits the arrival of her closest childhood friend and now celebrated artist, Henrietta Tirman. As Marie prepares for the evening ahead, she reflects on the great joys and sorrows of a life devoted to making art.
The concert production will be directed by Grace Taylor, with music supervision, arrangements & orchestrations by Matt Herbert.
IN CLAY has music & lyrics by Jack Miles, with a book & lyrics by Rebecca Simmonds.
