CHICHESTER FESTIVAL THEATRE’S SOUTH PACIFIC RESCHEDULED TO 2021

⭐ CHICHESTER FESTIVAL THEATRE’S SOUTH PACIFIC RESCHEDULED TO 2021 ⭐

The Chichester Festival Theatre production Rodgers and Hammerstein’s South Pacific is being rescheduled to 2021.

South Pacific will now run from 5th July – 28th August 2021.

Chichester Festival Theatre announced that due to the unpredictable ongoing nature of Covid-19, it has made the very difficult decision to cancel all scheduled Festival 2020 productions.

The Theatre had been due to reopen in July with South Pacific and The Unfriend, both of which they intend to reschedule to 2021.

The cast was due to include Gina Beck (Matilda) as Nellie, Julian Ovenden (Downton Abbey) as Emile, Joanna Ampil (Miss Saigon) as Bloody Mary, and Rob Houchen (Les Misérables) as Cable.

Hopefully they will all still be a part of the show when it is staged next year.

This much-loved, Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical opened in 1949 to huge success, becoming one of Broadway’s longest running hit shows. It boasts one of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s most memorable scores, featuring songs such as Some Enchanted Evening, I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair and Bali Ha’i.

This new production will be directed by Artistic Director Daniel Evans whose previous Chichester productions include This Is My Family, Quiz and Fiddler on the Roof.

So glad that we will still get to this exciting production.
