Brian Conley is to star as Ebenezer Scrooge in Alan Menken & Lynn Ahrens musical adaptation of A Christmas Carol, it has been announced.
A Christmas Carol will be coming to London’s Dominion Theatre and will feature a 50-strong line-up of actors and musicians in one of the UK’s biggest theatre productions to be staged since lockdown.
Billed as a staged concert, the show will play to audiences of 1,000 – half the West End venue’s normal capacity.
Producers say there will be at least 1m social distancing between groups, with other safety measures, and the cast will get daily Covid tests.
With sensational music from London Musical Theatre Orchestra, soaring melodies, moving lyrics and the most famous of all Christmas stories, this is the 2020 event that will unite friends, families and loved ones with the magic of live entertainment.
A Christmas Carol is a musical with music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, and book by Mike Ockrent and Lynn Ahrens. The musical is based on Charles Dickens’ 1843 novella of the same name.
A Christmas Carol will play a limited season at the Dominion Theatre and run from 7th December 2020 – 2nd January 2021.
