Brenda Edwards will play the role of Deloris Van Cartier in Sister Act – The Musical. The role will be specially rewritten for an older actress.
Whoopi Goldberg commented about the casting of Brenda Edwards: “Reinventing the role of Deloris for an older actor is something that I have always wanted to do. To have the amazingly talented Brenda Edwards play her is going to be a real thrill. It’s Sister Act the way Sister Act should be!”.
