Further casting has been announced for the upcoming 50th anniversary concert production of PIPPIN.
Oliver Award winner Patricia Hodge will star as Berthe. Hodge created the role of Catherine in the original 1973 West End premiere of PIPPIN, directed by Bob Fosse.
Also starring Lucie Jones (Waitress) as Catherine, Cedric Neal (Guys and Dolls) as Charlemagne, Zizi Strallen (Mary Poppins) as Fastrada, Jac Yarrow (Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat) as Pippin.
Featuring Ryan Heenan (Jersey Boys) as Theo and Idriss Kargbo (Wicked) as Lewis, with Amonik Melaco, Jak Allen-Anderson, Sally Frith and Gleanne Purcell-Brown as the four Players.
They join the previously announced Tony Award winner Alex Newell as the Leading Player.
Due to artist scheduling issues, the two concerts are moving from the London Palladium to the Theatre Royal Drury Lane on new dates. Ticket holders will be contacted by LW Theatres to confirm their seats for the new dates and venue.
PIPPIN is a soul-searching exploration of one man’s journey to find himself, his place and purpose in life.
Featuring an infectiously unforgettable score from four-time Grammy winner, three-time Oscar winner and musical theatre giant, Stephen Schwartz, including the classic songs “Corner of the Sky” and “Magic to Do”.
The 50th anniversary concert of PIPPIN will be directed by Jonathan O’Boyle, featuring musical direction by Chris Ma, set & costume design by Polly Sullivan, lighting design by Jamie Platt, sound design by Adam Fisher, orchestrations by Simon Nathan based on original orchestration by Larry Hochman, casting director Jane Deitch and produced by Katy Lipson for Aria Entertainment & Carter Dixon McGill Productions.
PIPPIN will now play the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, on the 29th & 30th April 2024, with tickets on sale now.
