⭐ HELLO DOLLY! WEST END REVIVAL – STARRING IMELDA STAUNTON – AIMING FOR 2023 ⭐
The highly-anticipated revival of the musical Hello Dolly! will hopefully be heading to the West End in 2023, it has been revealed.
Imelda Staunton, who is set to play Dolly Levi in the new production, confirmed in an interview with Edward Seckerson that the earliest she’ll be available to star now is in 2023, and that’s when they now hope to stage it.
Staunton will be busy in the next couple of years, with the recent news of her starring role as the Queen in season 5 & 6 the smash-hit Netflix series – The Crown.
The revival was originally set to open in August 2020 for a limited run but the pandemic obviously delayed those plans.
With music and lyrics by the legendary Jerry Herman (La Cage aux Folles, Mack and Mabel, Mame) and book by Michael Stewart (42nd Street, Mack and Mabel, Barnum), Hello, Dolly! is one of the most iconic musicals of all time.
I’m so glad they are still aiming to do this! ! !
