⭐ CILLA THE MUSICAL – STARRING SHERIDAN SMITH – WEST END RUN ANNOUNCED ⭐
Cilla the Musical, starring Sheridan Smith, will be coming to the West End, it has been announced.
The news of a West End run was announced before Sheridan Smith’s performance on the Royal Variety Performance.
It was confirmed that “Next year, Cilla the Musical will open in Liverpool and tour across the UK, before beginning an eagerly anticipated run in the West End”.
Dates or venue have yet to be announced.
Sheridan wowed fans and critics alike with her portrayal of the nation’s favourite singer and TV personality in Jeff Pope’s BAFTA award-winning ITV series.
The spectacular and heart-warming musical adaptation of the TV series, Cilla the Musical, follows the extraordinary life of an ordinary teenage girl from Liverpool, Priscilla White, and her rocky, yet incredible, rise to fame.
The musical score features the ultimate soundtrack to the 60’s including Cilla’s greatest hits Anyone Who Had a Heart, Alfie and Something Tells Me, alongside a backdrop of the legendary “Liverpool Sound”.
Cilla the Musical is produced by Laurie Mansfield and Bill Kenwright who also co-directs with Bob Tomson, with choreography by Carole Todd. The acclaimed musical is designed by Gary McCann, has lighting by Nick Richings and sound by Dan Samson with musical direction by Scott Adler.
