⭐ FROM HERE TO ETERNITY UK TOUR UPDATE ⭐
An update on the UK tour of Tim Rice & Stuart Brayson’s musical, From Here To Eternity, has been revealed.
Famed lyricist Sir Tim Rice gave an update on the potential UK tour, in a recent interview with Deadline, when asked what he was working on pre-covid, commented:
“… I was also working on a revamping of From Here to Eternity, a show that ran in London four or five years ago. It got very nice reviews, but didn’t do very well commercially, so we were in the process of investigating a US tour, and also a UK tour, which I think would’ve gone on, without any doubt…”
When asked about the current status of these plans, Rice elaborated:
“… We’ve been having conversations with English producers and our American producers quite regularly, and we’re slightly marking time now. We can’t just say, “Let’s start rehearsals in March” because we might not be able to. We think it is basically ready to go into preproduction, but half the point of preproduction is to find out what’s wrong with it and you can’t really find out what’s wrong with it before you go into preproduction. So, not a lot is happening, but anything that was seriously considered before the lockdown is still being seriously considered.”
From Here To Eternity the Musical is based on the original novel by James Jones, with music and lyrics by Sir Tim Rice and Stuart Brayson, and book by Bill Oakes.
I’m glad to hear he’s still working on it and that, fingers crossed, we will get to see it eventually! ! !
