⭐ THE ILLUSIONIST MUSICAL ADAPTATION WORLD PREMIERE ANNOUNCED ⭐
The world premiere of the stage musical adaptation of The Illusionist, has been announced.
This new musical is a joint production from West End producer Michael Harrison and Umeda Arts Theater.
Based on Steven Millhauser’s short story Eisenheim the Illusionist, which also spawned the 2006 film adaptation, The Illusionist starring Edward Norton.
The Illusionist tells the story of Eisenheim, a magician in turn-of-the-century Vienna, who reunites with his childhood love, a woman far above his social standing.
Book by Peter Duchan (Dogfight) with music & lyrics by Michael Bruce and directed by Thom Southerland (Ragtime, Angela Ashes – The Musical).
This Illusionist will premiere at Tokyo’s Nissay Theatre, playing from December 2020 – January 2021.
I love Thom Southerland’s work, his last show Angela’s Ashes – The Musical was gorgeous.
This new production sounds super intriguing, I hope it makes its way over here! ! !
