The London return of THE MUSICAL MEDEA, a bold folk reimagining of the Greek tragedy, has been announced.

This new musical will return to Upstairs at the Gatehouse for a one-week limited run, this September.

THE MUSICAL MEDEA. You will hear her. A new folk musical retelling of the Ancient Greek myth. This time, Medea’s holding the mic. Leaving behind the safety of her homeland, Medea places her trust in Jason and his promise of a glittering future together. But is her faith well placed?

With an original folk score and an ensemble of actor-musicians comes a new dimension to the story you thought you knew of sacrifice, betrayal, and the cataclysmic power of love.

Starring Flo Lunnon as Medea, Alistair Higgins as Jason, Gracie Lai as Housekeeper, Jon Bonner as Creon, Caoimhe De Brún as Sister, Felix Gillingwater as Aegeus and Thomas Fabian Parrish as Messenger.

THE MUSICAL MEDEA is directed by Tara Noonan, with assistant direction by Lewis Reece Jones, musical supervision & arrangements by Thomas Arnold, musical direction by by Thomas Parrish, movement direction by Kim Wright, stage management by Bethany Knowles, set & costume design by Hannah Danson, lighting design by Toby Ison, sound design by Sam Thornton, technical assistance by Ellen Read, general management by Annlouise Butt, assistant general management by Jesse Musker and production assistance by Peixuan Gu.
