The full cast and creative team for PUBLIC – THE MUSICAL has been announced.
The standout hit Edinburgh Fringe show is set to enjoy a new life at Leicester’s Curve theatre this Spring.
Four strangers. A gender-neutral public toilet. No way out. The scene is set for an unmissable new musical packed with emotion, comedy and joy. Meet people-pleaser Laura on the way to their wedding, Andrew, a Lycra-clad city banker on his cycle ride home, Zo an ultra-woke activist, armed with causes and critiques and Finley, an anxious, sweat-soaked stress case. Trapped together, tensions high – nothing stays private for long as personalities clash and the group’s differing views are laid bare.
Starring Grace Towning (she/her) as Zo, Matt Corner (he/him) as Andrew, Ivano Turco (he/him) as Finley and Cole Dennis (they/them) as Laura.
PUBLIC – THE MUSICAL is a bold, laugh-out-loud new musical that explores human connection with sharp comedy, authentic characters, and an electrifying pop-rock score.
The musical was first performed at the VAULT Festival 2023, where it received the VAULT Festival Origins Award. The production then went on to play a sell-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe that and was listed as Playbill’s Pick of the Fringe.
Created by the collective Stroud and Notes, PUBLIC – THE MUSICAL is written by Hannah Sands (they/them), Kyla Stroud (they/them) and Natalie Stroud (she/her) and composed by Kyla Stroud (they/them).
Directed by Hannah Sands, choreographed by Natalie Stroud, with musical supervision & orchestratations by Olivia Zacharia (she/her), set & costume design by Amy Jane Cook, lighting design by Katy Morison as Lighting Designer, musical direction by Livs Needham, associate design by Anita Gander and casting direction by Harry Blumenau Casting.
PUBLIC – THE MUSICAL will play the Curve Theatre, Leicester, running from 30th May – 13th June 2026, with tickets on sale now.
