⭐ LIMP WRIST & THE IRON FIST – BY EMMANUEL AKWAFO ANNOUNCED FOR BRIXTON HOUSE – OCTOBER 2024 ⭐
The premier of LIMP WRIST & THE IRON FIST, a powerful new show by Emmanuel Akwafo, has been announced for Brixton House.
LIMP WRIST & THE IRON FIST is a vibrant celebration of Black, queer identities, exploring themes of love, resilience, and self-discovery. Set against the backdrop of London, a community rich with cultural history and diversity, the show shines a spotlight on voices often overlooked in mainstream theatre.
The show is there for the audience to think about their own perception of identity, as well wanting to empower young Black gay men to embrace their culture, race, religion, sexuality and present the reality of a real male body.
Writer & Director Emmanuel Akwafo commented: “I want to enhance the audience’s understanding on gay identity in the Black community by demonstrating the difficulties each character faces whilst they take us on their individual and shared journeys.”
LIMP WRIST & THE IRON FIST will star Jamal Franklin as Joseph, Ashley Byam as Monday, Dane Williams as Nathaniel and Dwayne Black as Mohammed.
LIMP WRIST & THE IRON FIST is written & directed by Emmanuel Akwafo, with assistant direction by Nathanael Campbell, visual coordination by Lucian-Mihai Koncz, stage management by Marcus Collick, lighting design by Jahmiko Marshall and sound design by Xana.
LIMP WRIST & THE IRON FIST will play Brixton House, running from 9th-12th August 2024, with tickets on sale now.
