A brand new London revival of Michael John LaChiusa & George C. Wolfe’s THE WILD PARTY has been announced.
The new production is set to open at EartH Hackney, a new 680-capacity venue in Dalston, this summer.
EartH, originally built in the 1930s as a cinema, has undergone two years of restoration and now boasts jaw-dropping original Art Deco features and a state-of-the-art sound system.
LaChiusa and Wolfe’s THE WILD PARTY is a bold explosion of a musical that transports us into the intoxicating dark side of the Jazz Age. It’s a thrilling journey through booze-fueled nights with characters, score, and text that are utterly exhilarating. The grotesque and iconic guests at this party possess our cast, transforming them into the puppets of ghosts from an untamed past, creating a palpable sense of unpredictability.
THE WILD PARTY will star Laura Baldwin (Waitress, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cinderella) as Queenie.
Also starring Simon Anthony as Burrs, Bobbie Little as Kate, Billy Cullum as Black, Chumisa Dornford-May as Dolores, George Crawford as Jackie, Jade Kennedy as Eddie, Kirsty Foreman as Mae, Christian Maynard as Phil, Kyle Richardson as Oscar, Maddison Buleyment as Nadine, Ronan Quiniou as Gold, Ryan Wolpert as Goldberg, Jennifer Louise Jones as Swing & Dance Captain and Amber Sylvia Edwards as Swing.
THE WILD PARTY will be directed by Dan Herd, featuring choreography by Alexzandra Sarmiento, set & costume design by Sophia Pardon, lighting design by Adam King, sound design by Russell Ditchfield, musical supervision by Ben Goddard-Young, production management by Ian Moore for the Production Family, casting director Richard Johnston for Pippa Ailion and Natalie Gallacher Casting and produced by DeeHampton Productions Ltd.
THE WILD PARTY has music & lyrics by Michael John LaChiusa, book by Michael John LaChiusa and George C. Wolfe. Based on the poem by Joseph Moncure March.
THE WILD PARTY will play EartH Hackney, running from 12th August – 7th September 2024, with tickets on sale now.
