⭐ KARL QUEENSBOROUGH, RICHARD CARSON & TOM HIER TO STAR IN CHINESE PRODUCTION OF LADY M ⭐
New casting has been announced for the Chinese production of new musical LADY M.
While the UK production of Lady M is in development, creators James Beeny & Gina Georgio have agreed a licensing deal with Shanghai Culture Square to produce a Chinese production of the Macbeth-inspired musical in 2024.
The production, which will be performed in English, will feature a predominately Chinese cast, and three British actors have also been invited to take part.
Karl Queensborough will play Macbeth, Richard Carson will play Macduff, and Tom Hier will play Banquo. They will each perform on certain dates and share the roles with Chinese actors.
Based on Shakespeare’s Macbeth, LADY M tells the untold story of Lady Macbeth. Chilling flashbacks of her haunted past are woven into this reimagining of the famous tale, revealing an original backstory to Lady Macbeth’s villainy and downfall.
LADY M is created, adapted & written by James Beeny and Gina Georgio, the sung-through musical features a modern score with original music and lyrics.
LADY M opens at the 1862 Arts Centre in Shanghai on 9th May 2024.
