A studio cast recording of new musical ROSIE is set to be released, it has been announced.
ROSIE THE MUSICAL is an exciting new historical drama based on an inspirational true story with music & lyrics by Chris Broom and book by Sam Babenia.
ROSIE tells the remarkable story of Miss Rosie Boote who overcame considerable adversity to fulfil her dream of becoming a star of the West End Theatre in Victorian London.
The ROSIE original studio cast recording will be released on 1st March 2024. The twelve-track album features a selection of highlights from the score, notably showcasing the show’s powerful ballads, which between them have collected multiple songwriting awards.
The wonderfully talented young vocalist Lucy Thomas sings the title role with a series of stunning solos, including “Starlight”, “Suddenly” and “Broken Dreams”.
She is joined on the album by two rising West End stars, Will Callan, on two beautiful duets, “Above The Clouds” and “Hold On” and Desmonda Cathabel, who sings the majestic “I Still Believe in Love”.
The album also includes rousing ensemble numbers by Kantos Chamber Choir and St. Bede’s Catholic High School Ormskirk Chamber Choir.
A showcase concert performance of ROSIE is currently being planned for London in the Autumn, this will feature a semi-staged performance of all the songs from the album as well as additional supporting character solos and uptempo ensemble numbers that complete the full score.
The show itself is scheduled to premiere early next year, with details to follow.
