The 2023 London studio cast recording of
DIVA – LIVE FROM HELL! has been released, it has been announced.
The one-person-musical, inspired by the classic Bette Davis movie All About Eve, features the West End’s Luke Bayer performing a full company of roles, set against a contemporary musical theatre score dripping in references to some of Broadway’s most iconic shows.
This new recording features a larger band, which includes Debbi Clarke (piano), Ben Uden (bass/guitar), Jonni Grant (drums), Jacob Rosenburg (trumpets), Max Ellenberger (clarinet/flute) and Chloe Winand (cello).
Also with new orchestrations by Jonni Grant, with musical direction by Debbi Clarke. Produced by Alexander Sage Oyen and Joe McNeice.
The album’s launch is being marked by a live Q&A event with the writers at the Drama Bookshop in New York City on Wednesday 20th December at 7:30pm. The event, hosted by Broadway Babble’s Charles Kirsch, will also feature surprise guest performances.
