⭐ CABARET – NEW PRODUCTION ANNOUNCED FOR LIDO 2 PARIS ⭐
A new production of the iconic musical Caberet will be coming to Paris, it has been announced.
The new production, will reopen the famous Le Lido Paris, as Lido 2 Paris, with the Champs-Elysées cabaret having closed its doors this summer. Now under the artistic direction of Jean-Luc Choplin, the former director of the Théâtre du Châtelet, the theatre will reopen as a venue now strictly dedicated to musicals.
This new production was entrusted to Robert Carsen, who had previously directed successful productions of Singin’ in the Rain and My Fair Lady at the Théâtre du Châtelet.
This will reportedly be the first time that the musical is staged in Paris, in its original version, in English (with subtitles).
The new production of Cabaret will be directed by Robert Carsen, with costumes by Luis F. Carvalho, set design by Carvalho & Carsen, choreography by Fabian Aloise and lighting design by Giuseppe Di Lorio & Carson.
Cabaret has music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, book by Joe Masteroff. Based on the play by John Van Druten and stories by Christopher Isherwood.
Caberet will play Lido 2 Paris, running from 1st December 2022 – 3rd February 2023, with tickets on sale now.
